Christopher Hird is the founder and managing director of Dartmouth Films, which has pioneered new ways of funding, producing and distributing documentaries – from dream to screen. Virtually all of Dartmouth’s films receive UK theatric releases and are sold to international broadcasters or platforms. Among the films which Christo has executive produced are the Sundance premiered films Black Gold (2007); The End of the Line (2009), The Flaw (2011) and Fire in the Blood (2013). Films premiered at Sheffield DocFest, one of Europe’s leading festivals, include The Ballymurphy Precedent (2018), Lost in Vagueness (2017), later shown on Sky, Cambodian Spring (2017), nominated for BAFTA’s Outstanding Debut Award and winner of multiple international awards, Destination Unknown (2016) and The Divide (2015), sold to Netflix.
